Art and Peace
A Singaporean of Chinese origin, LIN Xiang Xiong, born in 1945, lived through the horrors of war and suffered exile. Discovering art was a revelation for him, and for more than 60 years, painting has been a constant activity for LIN Xiang Xiong. It has enabled him to get through difficult times with a dream in his heart.
On December 14, 2025, a museum dedicated to peace will open on the island of Penang in Malaysia. Entirely conceived and designed by LIN with the support of teams of architects and designers, this museum is the culmination of a project that has inspired the professor for many years.
From September 10 to 13, LIN Xiang Xiong will present his work and his museum through 25 paintings exhibited at the Hôtel de l'Industrie on Place Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
September 11 will be devoted to a symposium on the theme “Can Art Contribute to Peace?”
Originally scheduled for September 10, the opening has been exceptionally postponed to September 12 so that it can take place simultaneously with the presentation of the LIN Xiang Xiong Art for Peace Prize, of which LIN is the patron.
The Lin Xiang Xiong Art for Peace Prize competition ended on August 15, 2025, and we are pleased to announce that it was a huge success: 1,883 artists from around the world took part in this event dedicated to art and peace.
More excellent news: Philippe Djian, the renowned French writer, has agreed to chair the competition jury.
A novelist, short story writer, screenwriter, and lyricist, his work spans various literary genres. A prolific author, he has written more than thirty novels, including 37°2 le matin, Impardonnables, Incidences, and Oh..., several of which have been adapted for the cinema. His writing, marked by great freedom, is distinguished by a lively, incisive style deeply influenced by American literature.
The jury will select three winners based on the relevance, creativity, and artistic quality of their work.
